The IUPUI Senior Academy invites you to an upcoming IUPUI event – Reading at the Table – co-sponsored by University Club and Office of Academic Affairs. The first "Reading at the Table" of the semester will feature Nancy Chism (former Senior Academy board member). Dr. Chism will discuss her book Pickin' Cotton on the Way to Church: The Life and Work of Father Boniface, OSB. This biography highlights the life of Father Boniface Hardin, a Benedictine monk who was a noted social activist and founder of Martin University, the only predominately African American institution of higher learning in Indiana. Father Hardin fought injustice in Indianapolis during the turbulent 1960s and beyond, and founded an innovative university. Father Hardin died in 2012, and this volume will provide an overview of his story. Please RSVP via this online form. When: Where: Visitor parking is available in North Street Garage or Sports Garage.
